BandsOne of the Uks biggest exports is music, with British bands being at the forefront of modern music. In the ‘90s Oasis revolutionized independent rock (indie) so much that it even became known as brit pop (with bands like Catatonia, Republica and Pulp). Even with the mainstream fame that DJs and producers can achieve these days the live band is still a force to be reckoned with, and live music just wouldn’t be the same without them. Despite genre bands are typically made up of guitar, bass, drums and a singer. This works for many different styles including, Rock, Pop, Punk, Metal, Ska and Reggae. Bands work together to write and create music that will hopefully be enjoyed by others and played to live crowds, as is every teenagers dream when playing air guitar in front of the mirror! When a band has enough of a following they may be approached by a record company or A&R man (artist and repertoire) to sign a contract and release a commercial record. Before this point it is important for bands to have a listenable demo in order to get gigs with and help get that following. The live music scene is becoming more and more popular, with
festivals like Leeds and Reading selling out almost instantly (compared
to just a few years age, when ticket prices where half to two thirds
less expensive than they are now). The main reason for this is the
surge of live bands that are coming about. Rock is still one of the
biggest genres in the world and everyone wants to live the rock
